The research result shows that how water has played a major role in the formation of gardens in hot and dry areas, and pools are the most important water elements which have been used in various different shapes in the design and construction of the gardens. The cultural concepts of the water in the Islamic era, and especially in Iran have a role in the physical formation and the location of some ponds. It seems that one of the most important and divine water elements is related to the pool, but a number of changes in this tradition were made during the Qajar era. During this period of time, a large number of ornamental and fantasy aspects was added to its symbolic dimensions.
